Why make a donation? The Nashville Fire Department is staffed soley by volunteers. A small portion of our yearly budget comes from the township contributions and grants. The Fire Department relies on fund raisers and donations from the community to meet the remainder of our operational budgets. In August 2009, we placed the new 2009 Sutphen Fire Engine in service. The cost for the Fire Engine alone was $331,000.00. Most of the equipment was able to be tranfered from the old truck to the new truck. However, some equipment not included in the purchase price was needed also. We were also able to purchase a hydraulic Holmatro Rescue Tool in 2009 which is also on the new Fire Engine. The Holmatro Rescue Tool is used to help free trapped persons from vehicle crashes. Your continued contributions help keep the fire company operational and replace aging equipment. This helps us keep our members safe as well as make the community we live in safer. We also wish to thank The Jackson Township Supervisors for their continued support and yearly contribution. Jackson Township was able to increase the yearly contribution slightly for 2012 to help the fire companies increasing costs with out raising your local taxes.
